Vital Strategies Brazil launched the Portuguese version of the book “Alcohol: No Ordinary Commodity—Research and Public Policy,” originally published by Oxford University Press. Translated by Vital Strategies and published by Dialética, the book is the world’s leading reference in the field of alcohol policy and has now arrived in Brazil in both online and physical versions. The book is a collaborative effort by an international group of addiction scientists to improve the linkages between addiction science and alcohol policy. It presents, in a comprehensive, practical and readily accessible form, the accumulated scientific knowledge on alcohol research that has a direct relevance to the development of alcohol policy on local, national and international levels. The publication also addresses the impact of alcohol on health and well-being, and delves into questions about the role of industries as drivers of alcohol-related problems.
A Vital Strategies Brasil lançou a versão em português do livro “Álcool: uma mercadoria nada comum—Pesquisa e políticas públicas”, uma publicação original da Oxford University Press. Por meio de tradução realizada pela Vital Strategies e publicação via editora Dialética, a obra, que é a maior referência mundial na área de políticas de álcool, chega ao Brasil em versões online e física. O livro é um é um esforço colaborativo de um grupo internacional de cientistas para conectar ciência e política do álcool. Ele apresenta, de forma abrangente, prática e acessível, o conhecimento científico acumulado sobre as pesquisas na área para o desenvolvimento das políticas em nível local, nacional e internacional. A publicação também aborda o impacto do álcool sobre a saúde e o bem-estar, e aprofunda questões sobre o papel das indústrias como indutoras de problemas relacionados ao tema.
