March 14, 2024 (New York)—Vital Strategies, a leading global health organization committed to addressing the most pressing public health issues facing cities and countries worldwide, is pleased to announce the appointment of two distinguished members to the Board of Trustees: Ping Hsieh, former Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Hubbell Incorporated, and Renata Reis, Executive Director of the Doctors Without Borders office in Brazil.

Ping Hsieh, former Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Hubbell Incorporated brings a wealth of operational and international experience to the board. At Hubbell, he was responsible for the company’s legal, governance, compliance, internal audit, and environmental, health and safety functions. Before joining Hubbell, Hsieh held a 16-year tenure at United Technologies Corporation. He held key roles such as Deputy General Counsel of Otis Elevator and General Counsel of UTC’s Fire & Security division and worked on a four-year assignment as Chief Legal Officer for Otis Elevator’s Asia Pacific Area in Singapore. Hsieh is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Renata Reis, Executive Director of Doctors Without Borders Brazil, brings her expertise in advocacy, fundraising, communication, and organizational strategy to the board. Leading a team of about 200 employees access various functions, Reis plays a crucial role in guiding the office’s operational and organizational strategies in Brazil. With a Ph.D. in law and a background in social policy and communication, Reis has remained committed to health and social issues throughout her career. She is currently a Lecturer in Advocacy and Lobbying at Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro.
